How much can I get for an old almirah & wardrobe?

Is a steel almirah worth more than a wooden one?
Usually yes, particularly the older heavy-gauge ones. They are hard to damage beyond use, they resell quickly, and even a badly dented one holds real value in the steel.
The lock is broken and the key is lost. Does that matter?
Only a little. Locks are replaceable and a missing key is common on a second-hand almirah. A door that will not close properly matters more.
How is the price decided?
Material and size first, then age and condition. Dents, rust and a jammed door each reduce it, but none of them rule a unit out.
Do I need to empty it first?
