What paperwork do I need to scrap a car in Delhi?
The RC is the important one. A registered scrapping facility cannot issue a Certificate of Deposit without it, and without that certificate the registration is never properly closed. If you only have a duplicate RC, or none at all, tell us at the enquiry stage so we can tell you honestly what is possible before anyone tows anything.
What is a Certificate of Deposit and why does it matter?
It is the document a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility issues when it takes a vehicle in. It is what formally ends the registration, and it is also what carries the concession on your next vehicle purchase. A yard that hands you cash and no certificate has left the car legally still yours.
My car does not start. Can you still take it?
Yes. Most of what we collect does not start. Tell us where it is parked, especially if it is in a basement, so we bring the right recovery.
Do I get a rebate on a new car?
The Certificate of Deposit carries a concession on road tax for a new vehicle in most states, and several manufacturers add their own discount against it. The amounts change, so check the current position rather than relying on a figure from a website.
How is a scrap car priced?
By weight and by what is still on it, so a complete car with its engine, gearbox and wheels is worth considerably more than a shell that has been picked over. We give you a figure before the tow is arranged.
