How Much Is My Old Treadmill Worth in Delhi?

Most treadmills in Delhi homes are sold for far less than they are worth, for a simple reason: the owner has no idea what the number should be, so they take the first offer that comes with someone willing to carry it down the stairs.

Here is what actually decides the figure.

The short answer

Machine Typical age What we pay
Motorised, 2 HP+, barely used 1–2 years ₹14,000 – ₹22,000
Motorised, up to 2 HP, good condition 3–5 years ₹7,000 – ₹11,000
Motorised, older or heavily used 6+ years ₹3,500 – ₹6,000
Manual treadmill Any ₹1,200 – ₹3,000

These are indicative. The live figures are on our treadmill price list, which is generated from the same pricing our calculator uses.

Motor rating matters more than brand

This surprises people. A mid-brand machine with a 2.5 HP continuous-duty motor is worth more than a well-known brand with a 1 HP motor built for walking, because the heavier motor is what makes the machine usable for a second owner who actually intends to run on it.

If the rating is printed on the frame or the motor cover, find it before you get a quote. It is usually the single biggest line in the calculation.

Age matters less than you would think

A treadmill is not a phone. There is no annual model cycle and no software to go out of date. What ages is the belt, the deck and the bearings — and those age with use, not with time.

This is why we ask how much a machine has actually been used as a separate question from how old it is. A six-year-old treadmill that was used for two months and then stored is worth substantially more than a three-year-old one that has done an hour a day since.

What pulls the price down

  • A worn belt. Look at the middle third of the running surface. If it is visibly thinner or shiny compared to the edges, it is worn.
  • A dead console. It is the first thing any buyer presses. A machine that runs but shows nothing is harder to sell on.
  • A swollen deck. Usually damp. Press the board either side of the belt; if it feels soft or the surface has lifted, that is deck damage.
  • Heavy rust. Balcony storage does this. Light surface rust barely moves the price. Rust that has eaten into the frame does.

It needs to run

We buy treadmills to service and resell, so the motor has to start and the belt has to move. Wear is expected and priced in — a tired belt or a dead console does not rule a machine out. A motor that will not start does, and we would rather say that here than quote a number and turn up unable to honour it.

Which leads to the one piece of timing advice worth giving: if you are going to sell, sell while it still runs. A stored treadmill with a stiff belt becomes a seized one more quickly than people expect.

Getting it out of the house

The part that stops most people selling is not the price, it is the logistics. A home treadmill is commonly 70–90kg, it does not fit through a doorway assembled, and it is genuinely dangerous to carry down a staircase without knowing what you are doing.

We dismantle it, carry it down and load it, included in the price. Most of our rounds are in South Delhi, so if you are in that half of the city a treadmill booked in the morning is often gone by the evening. You do not need to help lift.
